Phil's G.I. Joe Page

Wait... you're actually reading this?!

Well, I'm back at school. Spring Break went by waaay too fast. I spent some time with one group of friends (saw some of them a total of five times during the week), but not with any others. I feel a little bad about that. But I feel worse about having classes start again tomorrow... Ugh. Why can't the year be over with already?

Thursday, March 28, 2002

All right, I realize I haven't written here in a while. Well, that's because I'm on Spring Break! I've been hanging out a lot with my old Troy buddies, and will be doing so again later today. But seeing as how it's already the wee hours of the morn' on Thursday, it means my break is already more than half over. That's a little depressing. I was getting used to being at home again. Stupid school... Oh, well...

Friday, March 22, 2002

Well, I'll be having my last final in about an hour. I can hardly wait...

On the other hand, as soon as I finish it, it's Spring Break!!!! Yessiree, a whole week off from school. Sure, it's not as long as winter break was, but I'll take what I can get. So, if I don't post much during the next 10 days, now you know why.

Well, I'll be damned. I finished reading all the chapters I needed to read. And what's this? I actually have a significant amount of free time? Remember this date, people!

Wednesday, March 20, 2002

I should be studying. I have 11 chapters to read for my final in Bio on Friday. But I'm not. Oh well, I'm sure I'll start a half hour before the final...

Looking at the picture on my desk, I can only say one thing: I miss my doggie!

Having done two finals today, please excuse me if I don't feel like typing much. Maybe I'll write about the finals later. In lieu of this, I'm going to cut-and-paste something I wrote a while ago. The first part is about 5 years old, while the second is about 8 months old. Hope you like it. Oh yeah, some thanks to my brother, who helped me come up with some ideas for the first part.

Top Ten things to Do at Disneyland
(Preferably When No One’s Watching)

10.Look for Leonardo DiCaprio’s dead, frozen corpse among the bits of iceberg on the Submarine ride.
9.Get the Pirates of the Caribbean in a knockdown drag out, full contact, winner-take-all fist fight against Indiana Jones, Abraham Lincoln, and the entire cast of “It’s a Small World.”
8.Aim your spit towards convertibles while on the Monorail.
7.See if there really is a basketball court inside the Matterhorn, and use any means necessary to find out.
6.See if you can convert the Teacups into a little Autopia. Goodbye, china!
5.Much like the ghosts on the Haunted Mansion, follow Mickey home!
4.Take the rails off of Autopia; give those nurses in the first aid station something to do!
3.Have your 5 year old ask incessantly (and loudly) “Where’s Snoopy?” (or, alternatively, “Where’s Bugs?”) especially if there’s a character around.
2.Take some REAL dynamite to the mine ride and Tom Sawyer’s Island with you.
1.Come back when it’s dark, take the mine ride’s dino bones, and attempt to make a profit off of them.

The New and Improved Top Things to Do at Disneyland
(‘Cause I Could Think of More Than Ten!)

· Dress up like one of the workers. When tourists ask for directions, show them the way by pointing with only one finger.
· Bug the trash can band players, asking if after a while their instruments begin to smell.
· On “Star Tours,” casually discuss the weight to velocity dynamics of vehicles that only appeared in Star Wars books with the Japanese tourist sitting next to you. Make sure he doesn’t know English well.
· On the Indiana Jones ride, try to get the Jeep to go down the road Indy blocks at the beginning, “just for fun.”
· Take the head off one of the cartoon characters in front of children.
· Start a fight with Mickey Mouse. Sue him.
· Laugh at anybody who says they want to go to California Adventure.
· Pants Abraham Lincoln. Oh wait…nobody goes to that exhibit.
· Replace the music on “It’s a Small World” with “Inna Gotta Davita.”
· Make Disneyland more like Knott’s Berry Farm. Rob the train.
· Steal a car from the Autopia. Drive it through the park.
· Form your own parade and perform it on Main Street. Ignore security at all costs.
· Continually ask what the Little Mermaid’s clamshell size is. Even ask the actress playing her.
· Ask the street cleaner following the horse-drawn carriage how much his pay is.
· Pimp your hoes on Main Street.
· Dress as various Disney characters. When asked about it, give an indignant look, mumble something about “those damn tourists,” and walk away.
· Go swimming in the lake.
· Try to find the dungeon in Sleeping Beauty’s castle.
· Capture the Abominable Snowman alive. He can bring you millions!

Yeah, I've been to Disneyland way too many times.

Well, I made two changes to this site. I'll let you figure out what they are. ;-)

Last night it started raining, which is no big deal, but then it started raining hard. Hardest I've ever heard it. It actually got a little spooky. Growing up in Southern California (and away from the beach), you don't usualy experience a real downpour. I only found out later it was actually hail. (For those of you who ask why I didn't know at the time, I was in my bed, which is on the opposite side of the room from the window.)

I actually got to thinking about last summer before the rain started. I miss the times when Roger, Ken, Neo Phil, Derek, and I would hang out together. What we did wasn't so important as that we hung out. It saddens me to think that things might never be like this again.

Holonet News

Heh... the current news of the Star Wars universe... I would assume this is official stuff since it's linked from the official Star Wars site.

Man, Saturdays at school are boring! Especially when finals are coming up, and everybody's away studying. I managed to read about 15 pages today, which is pathetic. I blame it on a headache I had and my total lack of desire to study.

Honestly, the system's screwed up when you have to study for GEs. College is supposed to be a time where you decide what you want to do and study that. If you don't know what you want to do, then fine, take courses now considered GEs. But don't make us all suffer! And the university's excuse? "GEs make a more well-rounded student."

WHAT THE HELL WERE THE FIRST TWELVE YEARS OF GRADE SCHOOL THEN??

Somebody, anybody! Please save me from this girl on AIM! She's scary, and using somebody else's screenname!

It occured to me that I haven't written in here today, so I'm doing that now. I have finals next week that I'm not looking forward to. But then again, who is? But the sad part is, if it wasn't for one class, I could go home Tuesday night. ONE FRIGGIN" CLASS! But nooo, that final had to be on Friday!

End rant.

But seriously folks, I'm hoping to get some good rec time in during spring break!

Oh, and look at the time of this post. See? No social life whatsoever. ;-)

Well, I finished my last class in Vis Arts 3 tonight. It's nice to have a class without a midterm or final. :-) Easy "A"! If only all my classes could be like that...

Nothing much else to say today, it's been pretty uneventful. So I'll end this rant right now. I bid you "adieu." Oh, wait, I don't wanna say goodbye to you people forever... I'll bid you "au revoir" instead.

I should be reading. Or studying. I've got finals next week, and there's one class where I know absolutely nothing about. But am I reading for it? Noooo.... Am I considering reading about it? Well, yeah, I guess so, since I'm writing about it here. Should I read it? Well, now, that's debatable. See, I only have 3 finals, and this class has its final on Friday. The other two are both on Tuesday. Thus, starting Saturday, I'll have 5 free days to read about it. I keep telling myslef I'll read about it then, but I probably won't. I'm stupid like that.

So what am I doing right now? I'm looking at webpages and getting annoyed at the Counter-Strike skin I'm dowloading that isn't transferring any data. Yessir, college is really giving me a chance to be like an adult!

Random thoughts for the day:

Wearing my new hat, I gotta tell you that, man, I'm really likin' my shadow right now! (How's that for random?)

Most depressing song, ever: "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin

What the hell is a Kodachrome??

We now return you to your regularly scheduled websurfing.

Nothing really to write about here right now, but I'm going to anyway. I've decided to leave the second guestbook posting there, 'cause it's nice to show negativity once in a while, and personally, I feel the post says more about the ineptitude of the poster than with anything on my site. Take that, "Why da Hell you want to Know"!

I stayed up to about 1:15 am last night, working on a paper due this morning. And I have to write another one tonight....

I've noticed some people trying to avert their eyes whenever I walk to classes with my Indy hat and jacket on, it's kinda funny!

"Clone War"

Woohoo! The new Episode II trailer is here!

I got an Indy Jones hat, too! And 12" G.I. Joe figures! This has been a great weekend!

Oh, but by no means assume that the reason I haven't posted in the last two days was because I have a social life. That's plain silly. Me, social?

Hey, everybody (all 2 of you who read this page...)! I added a guestbook! It's only accesible through this page, and it's in the links menu. Drop me a line! Let me know I'm not the only one reading this!

I think today is a good definition of "shitty weather." For most of the day it's been raining, varying from drizzle to downright downpour. It's cold. And while it isn't raining right now, it's foggy. That's right, it's 4:00 in the afternoon and there's thick fog everywhere. I haven't seen the sun all day, so it's been somewhat dark. And they said living by the beach would be fun.

So I finished up the chair today. It's ok, I guess, though not much to look at...

And I have to lug it all the way back to Mandeville because of the slight possibility that we'll use the chairs again. Sheesh.

What else is new? I might be getting more Joes, but you probably could have guessed that...

Tuesday, March 05, 2002

Okay, so today I worked more on that damn chair. I would've finished it all today, except THE FRELLIN' BATTERIES DIED!!! Yup, my electric drill ran out of juice after twenty minutes, despite the fact I charged them for 12 hours! So I did my best with 5 screws missing and applied the gloss coating. I'll finish it up tomorrow. Yeah, I know it was due today, but it was all right.

Monday, March 04, 2002

Stupid art class makin' me make a stupid chair! Stupid saws being too stupid dull! Stupid batteries dying in the stupid electric drill! Stupid screws gettin' stupid stripped! Stupid legs not stayin' in their stupid place! Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!

An overall stupid project.

Well, I changed over my entire website to topcities.com. It took longer than expected 'cause I had to reformat all my pages to accomodate the banners. Oh, and my apologies to those who did not see the previous entry. Geocities must have messed up yet again and prevented opening an FTP connection. Oh, well.

Well, since Geocities will be cutting off free FTP access, I've decided to move my site. The new URL will be http://pjdonnell.topcities.com. So if the next time you come here, nothing's here, you know where to go.

Goodbye, bigphilly_2000, we hardly knew ye.

Well, I registered classes this morning. I only have 3 classes, I want 1 more. But I can't get one more right now. I need to declare the major I want (which isn't the problem, 'cause I'm pretty sure I have a major I want; getting into it, however...) to get another lower division class. I'm not done with GEs, but I can't get into a chem class, and fulfilling my disciplinary breadth requirement requires upper-division standing.
