I'm kinda curious if anyone will do anything with this project of mine. The e-mail page doesn't work, since I purposefully messed up the code. (It's the same as on my e-mail page, but since the code is from Topcities and the project page on a UCSD server, I changed it just in case I might get in trouble.) Anyways, I don't know if any of you have Photshop, so I dont know if any of you have the power to do anything with the files.

Wow! I almost forgot to post today...

Ok, so I just finished one project, but I'm not too sure how well done it is; I just don't have much of an idea for it. I mean, how do you create a meme anyway? It's really abstract.

And if you don't know what a meme is, go look it up yourself.

Holy crap! I have 3 projects due in 3 different classes by next Tuesday! Man, taking 3 production courses this quarter is murder. You know, usually I have time for my non-existant social life, but now I'm just work, work, working!

You know, lately I've been doing my best to avoid completing homework. Yeah, I know, what else is new? Well, filling in that free time I create for myself, I find myself making some rather risque wallpapers for my desktop. Now, these wallpapers aren't half-bad (if anyone can consider my opinion unbiased when it comes to my own work...), but there's no point in me making them! I'm just avoiding work!!

Ok, I'm kinda low on the wait list for the acting class, damn.

In other news, I got a really geeky computer thing over the weekend: a portable hard disk! This little 2 inch wonder can store 64 Mb of storage, and connects to my computer through the USB port. Yeah, 64 Mb doesn't sound like much, but they also have 128 Mb ones out there, and the one I got was only $15 after rebate! Anyways, I still think it's pretty cool.

Added a new custom and some reference figures to pages in my Customs section. And you people thought (hoped) I had run out of ideas!

I registered for classes this morning. As I thought, I'm wait-listed for the acting class (I won't find out where I am in line until tomorrow), but I managed to get all the times I wanted for my visual arts classes. I'm a little concerned, though. If I don't get in this class, then I'll have yet another 3-class quarter, but I can't really avoid it. I can't take any more vis arts classes right now, since I either need to have already taken classes I haven't or I need a portfolio which I haven't built up yet. And like I said in my last post, the last GE I need to take isn't available this quarter. Why did they have to cancel that second section of the acting class??

Looks like I'm all set for registering classes tomorrow morning. I'm crossing my fingers in hopes that I get the times that I want. In theory, I'll be taking Theatre/Acting 101: Acting 1 (this is the big IF right now, only 3 spots open!), Vis Arts 111: Structure of Art, Vis Arts 140: Digital Imaging: Image & Interactivity, and Vis Arts 154: Hard Look at the Movies. It's too bad that the last GE requirement I need to fill out isn't really available in the disciplinary breadth that I want this quarter. I'm never gonna be done with them!

Don't you just hate it when you find out an assignmnet is due earlier than you thought? Happened again to me this week, in the same class ironically. I have another photography project due Tuesday, so I've had to frantically rearrange my schedule for the next few upcoming days to accomodate it. I guess this really isn't that bad once you realize I don't really have a life; but then again, I am trying to work on next quarter's schedule now.

So I'm not really digging my photography class right now. The TA has something against me, the labs are always full when I need to use them, and my grades are only so-so. That, and lectures and discussions are really, really boring.

I just finished another project in my photography class. It took me four hours to develop 2 color prints. Man, my back hurts!

Those of you who want to check out my StarTrek.com spoof site can head on over here. I did the start pages of StarTrek.com's nine sections. Just click on the section heading in the menu bar on the left side to get to them. You might want to open the real Trek site in another window to compare!

Happy Valentine's Day, everybody! I hope that you're all with the person you love, warm and safe in each other's presence. The rest of us single, bitter folks will be stuffing ourselves with chocolate and thinking nasty thoughts about you. Then we'll cry ourselves to sleep. I hope you're happy!

Oh yeah, happy birthday mom!

Quick blog before it passes midnight:

Argh! This website parody thing is taking longer than I'd hoped! Don't worry, though, I'll have the page put online when it's ready.

Side note: It's been exactly one year to the day since my first post here! Woo hoo! I've made a meaningful anniversary!

Two projects down, one to go. I developped and cropped four photographs in the photo lab for my secind project due this week. I also got to see the fruits of my labor on my first project today. As I'd hoped, adding sound design to the silent film I chose really made my film funny. It felt good hearing all the laughter while my piece was shown in class.

I have three projects due this week in my classes. One I'm finishing up now (burn to CD, then copy to video...), and the third shouldn't be too hard (maybe time-consuming...), but my photography project is gonna keep me burning the midnight oil. Boy is this subject not my strength! And oh joy! we have another project due next week, too!

So my ordinary weekend turned into a three-day weekend when the teacher of my only Monday class e-mailed us saying she was too sick to attend class. Luckily, I found out before I drove back to UCSD, so I got another day to stay at home. I managed to pick up a few G.I. Joes I was looking for, too. And I'm still at home now!

This Friday in my mom's birthday, so I'll definitely be driving home again this weekend. The only problem is that the 13th - 16th is the Buick Invitational at the Torrey Pines Golf Course. The last time I tried going home with this on, it took me 40 minutes to drive a half-mile! Curse you, Tiger!

My assignment in Intro to Computing and the Arts has me making a webpage parody. I need to save an actual webpage, and then in Dreamweaver modify it to make it more or less satirical. I'm thinking about StarTrek.com, but they may want to us to make our base webpage a little more like an organization. If the latter is true, I do have a website in mind, but it's so reactionary, that you get the feeling you're reading a parody to begin with!

So I just came back from my only midterm this quarter. I feel pretty good about it. While it's a G.E. class outside my major, it's about American political parties, so there's a good deal of history (which I like) that's a part of this class. Actually, I think my freakishly high memory retainment from American History in my junior year of high school helped me out on this one. Why did the political Machines fail? Because we changed the way they could control the vote!

By the way, is it just me, or has this page become less about my thoughts and more about what happened in my day? I just don't feel like I'm giving much insight into my current emotions as I did when I started this thing. I don't know if there's much I'd do about it (maybe change the title...), but I just wanted some opinion. Thoughts?

My Vis Arts class viewed all the silent films we produced today. As I thought, the glare on the windows came back to bite me in the ass, and I apparently need to work on making my camera work smoother, but that's ok. These films are still considered learning experiences. Next we take one of the silent films and add sound design to them. I'm hoping I can make the film I chose pretty hilarious.

I finally managed to download CS 1.6 today (two weeks!), but now I can't connect to a server... Who designed this thing?

Welcome to 5th week: where all your dreams come true, or are crushed by the weight of midterms. I'm lucky, though, since only my pass/no pass class has a midterm. But I've got projects due in two other classes, so I may feel a time crunch.

Here's a better picture:

Seated in front are astronauts Rick D. Husband (left), mission commander; Kalpana Chawla, mission specialist; and William C. McCool, pilot. Standing are (from the left} astronauts David M. Brown, Laurel B. Clark, and Michael P. Anderson, all mission specialists; and Ilan Ramon, payload specialist representing the Israeli Space Agency.

In death you are remembered.

Oh man. I don't remember the Challenger, but this isn't something I'm going to forget too soon. My deepest sympathies and regrets. And I know this isn't the right graphic, but I think you get the idea.
