Wait... you're actually reading this?!

This is just one of those weeks I want to get over and done with. The problem is, a lot of things are due next week. I won't be at my computer or the labs to get them done, and I haven't finished all of my readings. But I just want to get home for the weekend!

Yesterday was my 21st birthday. To celebrate, I went with Nammy, Ken, Mai, and Miho to Vegas Friday night and Saturday morning (odd, sonce only Miho could legally gamble...), and I spent way to much money at Star Trek: The Experience. Yesterday I got to see "The Producers" at the Pantages theater in L.A. If you can afford the tickets, you have to see this play. It's hilarious! Oh, and if you must know, I did have some alcoholic beverages. Not that I cared too much for them. Beer tastes like somebody dunked a soggy biscuit into Perrier. But maybe I'm just negatively biased towards alcohol.

Well, it's possible that the blown gasket on the T-Bird may result in us getting rid of the car. The estimate to repair it is $3000+ and there's just too many other problems this wouldn't fix. (The windows, man, the windows!) But it's still up in the air as to what actions my parents will take.

You know, I think I've come to a conclusion: It's not so much doing the homework that's the problem, it's getting started. I've had this three-page play review looming over my head for a few weeks now, and when I finally forced myself to do it, I finished in about an hour. It's times like this when I begin to question why I was so worried about it in the first place. And then when I was done, I went and finished off the other one page paper due for my theater class. And now I'm writing this! I'm just a typing fool!

Uh... disregard that last part. I'm beginning to undertand how I ever finished middle school - a time when I got more homework than I ever did in high school. I'd just keep going at it. That and I didn't know other schools were so much easier.

Well, I just finished Indy! Maybe I should start thinking about doing that homework stuff now, huh?

I'm starting to get a little worried about my homework. The end of the quarter signifies when all the mjor projects and papers are due, and here I've been procrastinating the weeks away. I still need to catch up on some of my reading. Oh, make the pain go away!

I finally got around to playing my copy of Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine last night. Even with the cheats on and a copy of a walkthrough this came is hard! Oh, and today I got to a point where I couldn't pick up a key to continue a level. Turns out the update patch file I installed last night screws up already-saved games. I had to completely restart today. There's five hours of my life down the tubes.

I hate my dryer. I started doing laundry at around 11 am today. I'm still doing it. And before anyone says anything, I only had about a week's worth of laundry to clean. Why the hell does it take so long? This is what I get for havng a dinky, little dryer that only dries clothes when you leave it about three-quarters empty. It turns an otherwise one to two hour task into something that can last all day.

I got department approval for my classes today, but I found a scheduling conflict I hadn't noticed before. This damn thing is probably gonna mean I have to go back to get approval for another class! Have I mentioned how much I hate getting department approval? I got there about ten minutes before the office opened and had to wait an hour before I was called up, only to be finished 3 minutes later. Why does it take so damn long?

I think I need to get some professional help. I'm literally counting down the days until it's the 18th, the day The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Extended Edition comes out. What does it say when you look forward more to a DVD release than your own 21th birthday 5 days later? Either way, I'm rewatching my Fellowship DVD extras just to find something I may have missed or forgotten. Anything to hold me over until I can watch more footage. I don't know whether to praise Peter Jackson or slap him around.

I hate having to get department approval to register classes. See, I went to school early today to get it, only to find out the department opens at 9 am every weekday but Mondays. I would have to wait until my class ended that day (it still left me an hour). I get there 65 minutes before closing only to find the waiting list closed for the day. And the office is closed tomorrow for Veteran's Day. I have to wait until Wednesday to register half my classes, which may be full by then. I hate having to get department approval.

I get to register next quarter's classes tomorrow. For some reason, scheduling courses went much, much quicker than any other quarter before. I didn't even come close to any scheduling conflicts. Looks like my major actually is progressing along.

In other news, I spent about 3 hours today setting up my dad's router from work to use in our house. The idea was that dad would use the work router and I could take our router and set it up in my apartment. Well, the damn thing must not be working right, because I gave it the exact same specifications Derek put in our router, and it wouldn't work! I eventually just gave up and reinstalled our regular router. It shouldn't be too big of a problem right now as I'm the only one in the apartment with a computer that's even been set-up.

Did I just thoroughly confuse you back there? Sorry, I can't think of a better way to explain it.

What's new? The headgasket probably just blew on the T-bird. That means the car's out of commission until we can get it repaired this week. Guess who's driving the Jetta? Yeah, back to the ol' standby. I guess I should be thankful that I was at home when this happened. I shudder to think that I could've ended up stranded in San Diego.

Random Thoughts for the Day:

- It's really hard to get back in the groove of updating this thing regularly, after so many months of non-committance.

- Why is it that every year advertisers immediately jump into Christmas advertising the moment Halloween is over? Does Thanksgiving mean nothing??

- Moreover, why do I buy into it?

- I turn 21 in 16 days. I'm not big into alcohol, but everyone else around me seems to be. What do I do?

I had my first midterm of the year and the onyone this quarter today in my Poli Sci class. I think I did alright, but those political comparison games get me every time! I don't know if it's how it's set up or the vagueness of the procedure, but I find it damn near impossible to pick the right outcome!

Hey, my domain's active and pointing where it's supposed to! Woo hoo! Now, I just have to figure out how to get my guestbook and e-mail pages working (Topcities handled that for me before)....

Note to self:

All-nighters bad, sleep good. No more 22 hour days, m'kay?

Well, Topcities crapped out my site again so I finally went and got a domain and site of my very own! Welcome to PhillipDonnelly.com! (Well, it will be soon enough...) I had to move and rework my entire site, so be sure to tell me if I've got any missing images or broken links, m'kay?

Oh, and I finally got a new version of Dreamweaver (legal, even!) so be on the look out for a new look to my website soon. (I hope.)
