I moved into my grandmother's house last night, and now that the internet's up and running, I'm surprised at how not bored I am during the day. I didn't do all that much today other than some routine maintainence on my computer. That stuff always takes a while, so I usually put off doing it for a long time. And since it's been about six months since I last did the optimizations, it was as good a time as any.

Oh, and anyone up for a Super Bowl party on Sunday at my place? Lemme know!

We're little by little making adjustments to my grandmother's house to make it feel like home. Adding cable internet yesterday and holding the garage sale was a good start, but there's still a lot of clutter to clear out, and some major appliances which would be nice to have around.

In other news, I got the Batman animated series movies today, so I'm only one season away from a complete set. My replacement SG-1 DVD came in the mail yesterday, so now I've got everything from that line, too. It's a nice sense of accomplishment, but I do realize this is on a wholly superfluous and trivial level.

Just got the internet up and working at my grandmother's house. Apparently, there's no DSL over here, so we had to bite the bullet and go with cable. But hey, at least we can now say that this hoiuse is cable ready, right?

Yesterday I went to Disneyland and met up with a bunch of people from a message board I frequent. I spent almost all day there. I would have stayed longer but the parents are in Idaho until tonight, so I needed to take care of the dog. Fun but exhausting day.

I've been home all week simply for the sake of internet access. Poor Roger's probably bored off his ass. Fortunately, we should be seeing the new Underworld tomorrow with some of our friends. At least he'll have something to do! After that I'll be home for the weekend watching the dog, since the parents will be in Idaho. Saturday will probably be a Stargate day, and Sunday might be a Disneyland day, to meet up with some people on a Disneyland message board I frequent.

I've been struggling to think up something to write here, but my life has suddenly gotten a little complex!

Roger's now rooming with me at my grandmother's house. It's not so disturbingly quiet there now, and since he works by LAX, the commute works out much better for him to stay with me.

And speaking of working, I'm, apparently, not. The production company where I was interning didn't get any pilots picked up like they'd hoped, so they didn't have enough work to justify keeping two interns around. Guess who got the short straw?

But on a happier note, an old friend from UCSD whom I hadn't seen in over four years (long story) finally dropped by Wednesday night. We couldn't hang out nearly as long as I'd hoped, but it was great to finally see her again after all this time. Yes, you read that correctly. My friend is female, but no, it didn't go anywhere. Sadly.

Well, we're a few days into 2006 and I just came back from my internship. It was a little weird starting up again after the break, as I really had to be retrained for what my job entailed. Two days is barely enough to get to know your job, but when it's followed by a two-week vacation, anything learned goes right out the window. Fortunately, the employees there realized this and were willing to oblige me while I got settled back in to my routine.
