Sadly, the Jetta went away today. Much like the Thunderbird went it outlived its usefulness, the Jetta was donated to the shop class at mom's school. The engine on the car had been surging for quite a while now, and when the lower gears started going we knew the little guy was nearing his end. I'm now on the Escort full-time, so the Jetta was just gathering dust on the curb. Well, at least we get a tax deduction out of it!

Haven't had much to report about lately. Or rather, I didn't really feel like reporting on what's been going on. On Friday, Nammy and I took Mai to Universal where we got her an annual pass on the cheap (I had a coupon!) and spent most of the day there. So we're increasing the size of out presence in that park now. We'll be back in Disneyland before long, though. That's about it, really. I hung out with them again on Saturday, and spent some time with Justin on Sunday, but nothing of real consequence there. I did pick up King Kong today, though, so we'll have something to watch come Sunday!

I've been playing around with Google Earth the past couple of days, and lemme tell you, this thing is really fun. Of course, I've mostly been using it to look up theme parks and movie studios, but still! It's cool to be able to casually look up any area of the world when I want. Too bad Mike's house in Missouri is covered by a rare cloud. D'oh!

I've taken a little time to think about this (which partly explains the gap between postings, but only party), and I'm confident enough to now say that I can drive a manual transmission. It's a bit of a big deal for me as I'm apparently deathly afraid of change, and the possibility of driving in LA traffic in a manual, but lemme tell ya, nothing teaches you better how to drive those lower f=gears than LA traffic. The incessant stop and go of the cars gives ample opportunity to learn the ins and outs of first and second gear. And if you stall out, well, you have enough time to restart the engine without anybody really noticing. Doesn't make the drive any more bearable, though. That's not to say I'm an expert driver, though. I still have issues with starting from a stop on an uphill slope, and if I haven't mastered parallel parking on an automatic yet, then god help me when I may have to do it on a stick!

Yesterday Nammy accompanied mom and me to Universal, where he picked himself up a shiny new annual pass. Crowds were light that day, more than likely due to the possible rain, so we managed to get on most of the rides and attractions. Quite a treat for Nammy, as he hadn't been in the park in about 15 years!

As for me, today I picked up a black Motorola Razr phone, so that's cool. Bigger news would be that I finally changed my phone number to one with a local area code. No more long distance to San Diego when you call me! E-mail or AIM to get the new number.

I'm rather proud at myself for only falling three times while ice skating on Saturday. I was pretty wobbly the whole time, but near the end of our two-hour skate time, there were a few moments where I may have been getting the hang of it. Afterwards we went to Downtown Disney for lunch and a movie, but we lost most of our people deciding on where to eat. Oh well.

Yesterday, mom and I went to Universal. Having gotten my camera in the mail from Vegas on Friday, I was able to take some photos this time. I think I may finally be getting the hang of this camera, as I think I got some nice shots during the tram ride, even while the cars were in motion. Mom and I also took advantage of Universal's $20 all you can eat program, working it out so that was all we spent on food the entire day. And we still had leftovers!

Alrighty, if you're in the Orange County area today, come on down and join us at Anaheim Ice (formerly Disney Ice) at 1 pm. See the comic hijinks of me falling down a lot because I don't know how to skate! And afterwards, maybe we'll see a movie.
