Today I went with both mom and dad to Disney's California Adventure for their inaugural Food and Wine Weekends. Of course, it was mostly a ploy to get dad in the park, since wine's not really up my alley. Fortunately, Nammy was around to hang out with while the parents were at seminars. And you know what's cool? Dad got an annual pass so he could attend all of these weekends!

I ended up working on Friday until 1, then headed directly back to Orange County from there. I checked a few toy stores on the way home - still no new Star Wars or G.I. Joes. Drat! The usual suspects came over and we watched a few movies and took a few hours to go ice skating. Of course, I had to be the party pooper and be the guy who doesn't skate, but it was cool. I was rockin' out on my MP3 player, I tell you.

I brought some G.I. Joes with me over to the LA house. Since I've been finding the new figures at Toys R Us stores, I've actually been a little more involved in my collection. I guess I was kinda resenting the fact that I couldn't get the new stuff (as anyone who's seen my bank account can attest), so I really ended up neglecting my existing collection. But now that I'm back in the groove of things, I'm liking my hobby again.

For the time being at my internship, I'm apparently the most senior member. My boss' assistant just left for another job, so I'm filling in until his replacement is available to start working. So now I have to get to work an hour earlier. Of course, I get off two hours earlier, so it's a trade-off. And for at least the next week and a half I'll be working five days a week. Now here's the weirdest part - I'm gonna be paid! It's not terribly much, but then again I was never really expecting any type of payment to begin with, so that's a bonus.

I had a busy Easter weekend. First off, Mike flew down on Friday and left earlier today. To that end, we invited some family friends over on Friday so they could see Mike. Saturday I was out with my own friends during the day and hung out with them at my house that night. Easter Sunday saw me get up, go to church, come back home and have brunch, drive out to Chino Hills to see family from my mom's side, and then drive to Huntington Beach to see family from my dad's side. I didn't get much free time at all yesterday.

Hey now, I just got a paycheck from my unpaid internship! Wait... how did that happen?? Heh, that old script I transcribed onto the computer got me money from the actual author for my troubles since it was kind of an extracurricular thing, if such a term can be applied to my internship. So now I can officially say I've made money in Hollywood. Of course, 75 bucks only gets you so far...

I'm having a bit of a good day today. I finished up transcribing a script for work that I've been working on for a while, so that's no longer looming over my head. Work today was really easy as I was pretty much just browsing the internet the whole time (ah, the lack of responsibility of an intern!), and the drive home was much lighter than usual, so it only took half the time. Then I get a call a few hours later saying my boss is sick and I get the day off tomorrow. Too bad for my boss, though. But hey, early weekend for me!
