This week's theme for after-work activities seems to have been to blow off all my planned web updates and DVD burnings and watch the DVDs I got for my birthday. Of course, it doesn't help that I got about a bazillion new discs, so I've got a lot of material to wade through. I just sit in front of the TV and veg out. Not healthy in the slightest, but it's damn entertaining!

It's dad's birthday today, but I didn't see him at all. I did wish him a happy birthday over the phone twice today, though, and I gave him his present last Friday. So, I think I have my bases reasonably covered. On another note, Roger and I checked out an Italian place for dinner tonight. We found the restaurant pretty enjoyable, so we're likely to go back. Does this mean we might actually start exploring the nieghborhood??

Where does the time go? One minute I'm keeping track of the days until my birthday, and the next I'm counting down the weeks until my trip to Japan!

After a largely uneventful half-week at work, Roger and I went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday Wednesday night. I drove home later that night and spent the next day, my birthday, largely doing Thanksgiving things. After an early dinner at our house with my father's relatives, we drove to Chino to spend a few hours with my mother's. Getting back home I made my way to Nammy and spent the night outside a video game store waiting for Nammy to get his Wii the next morning.

We were first in line, so he definitely got one of the six the store received. A quick trip to DVD Planet and I had the two new James Bond DVD compilation sets. A few hours later and I was back with my family celebrating my dad's upcoming birthday at the Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel at Downtown Disney. Nammy happened to be in the park, so I spent a few hours with him before going back to my place and finally crashing.

Saturday was stay at home and play the Wii entirely too much day.

Around midday Sunday we dropped Mike off at the surprisingly open LAX before I branched off to pick up a few things for the Japan trip with Mai and Nammy. One last dinner with my parents followed before driving back to LA.

Last night I drove back home from my boss' house. Seeing as how the more immediate route had me driving through Beverly Hills to get to the 10, I decided to try out Mulholland on the way to the 101, usually the faster route. Well, Mulholland was empty. Kind of a fun drive actually, with lots of twists and turns and dropoff cliffs. Being my first time driving that stretch of road, I was certain how easily I could drive it, but I think I managed fairly well. Unfortunately when I got to the 101, traffic was heavier than usual. D'oh!

Well, after a rather unlucky film shoot with Justin in San Diego last week, this weekend proved much more productive. I picked up Mike from LAX on Friday night and still made it home with plenty of time to see Battlestar Galactica. Saturday night had me at dinner in Fullerton with a birthday party. The big gift? A Sony Handycam, thank you very much! Everyone went back to my house for tv and video games afterward. This included playing a brand new Wii into the early hours of this morning. After some sleep, Nammy and I went to Disneyland to do a little practice shooting on my new camera. We caught Casino Royale that night to finish out the weekend.

I've spent the last few days just trying to make it through the work week. I think I've got a handle on the job now, so that's a plus. Other than that, it's business as usual for my weekdays. My weekends are a different story, though. Saturday I went to Medieval Times with Jenny, and got to re-experience a show I hadn't scene in probably 10 years. Fun times, but the chicken was a tad dry! This weekend I'll be partly spending in San Diego making a short film with Justin. Don't ask why it has to be in San Diego, it's just easier to get equipment that way. I may or may not be acting in it, depending on how reliable our "casting agent"'s pick turns out to be.

Sadly, it turned out to be a rather lackluster Halloween. We only had three trick-or-treaters the whole night, and they were all in the same group! There's so much leftover candy! Looks like I won't have to do any snack shopping any time soon.
