Man this month went by way too fast! If I wasn't at work, I was in Japan, Disneyland, or an Anime Expo meeting! Factor in the work for Yojoe being put off and getting together an SG-1 costume, and I'm surprised I've had time for sleep!

Went to Disneyland on Saturday with Roger as a sort of roommate bonding thing. I'm still not sure he appreciates the parks like I do, but I hope he had fun. Bummer though, I lost my hat on the Indy ride! Here's hoping it'll get mailed to me sometime this week. And oh yeah, we were evacuated after Big Thunder broke down while we were riding it. Of course, I thought it was pretty cool to be walking around back there. Roger was annoyed he didn't get to finish the ride!

Today I went back to the park to see if they found my hat (they hadn't yet), and ended up spending a few hours at the Micechat Second Anniversary Meet. So I hung around a bit with some fellow Disney nerds before going back home. Bought a few more items for the SG-1 costume today, too.

Went with Nammy on Saturday to a few Army/Navy surplus stores to start to put together our SG-1 costumes. We got the bottom half more or less finished, so we just need to concentrate on getting those unique upper pieces. We've got plenty of time until the conventions, so we're really only concerned about cost right now.

Saw Mai's gallery opening that night, and kinda got drafted into A/X on Sunday.

Work this week has been especially strange, with the guy above me suddenly gone from the company, leaving me with an unexpected promotion, and little clue as to what I'm doing!

Yes sir, I survived jury duty, despite Mapquest's best efforts to derail me in getting there. I spent the whole time sitting and reading some trade paperbacks I brought with me, passing the time until lunch. Walking to the Jack in the Box, though, I totally remembered why I hated this particular pair of dress shoes - the restaurant was only about four blocks away, yet I could already feel blisters forming on my feet. I made it through lunch and the walk back to finally be relieved at around 3. Too bad I didn't get paid today, but I suppose there are worse ways to spend jury duty. I didn't even have to go into a courtroom once!

Lucky me, I get to be in Santa Ana tomorrow attending jury duty! Sure, I get the day off from work, but... it's jury duty! Let's hope it's a painless one day affair, and not some prolonged, dragged out, legal proceeding. Unlike last time, I'll actually bring something with me to read!

It's been a hell of a week. Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea were both huge. I'm talking enormous here. As someone who'd never seen a Magic Kingdom-style park aside from the original Disneyland, the sheer enormity of the place was mind boggling. I kept remarking on the size of the castle, Adventureland was a lot more than a tiny street, Westernland seemed like a whole town! I even saw wasted space on Big Thunder! Anaheim can't afford that! And DisneySea? I die a little inside knowing Tokyo got that and we got California Adventure. They both opened in 2001! It's not like newer technology facilitated the creation of a better park! There's a three-deck cruise ship just sitting there for decoration, fer cryin' out loud! I need to calm down....

Wednesday we flew back home. Left Wednesday evening in Tokyo and arrived Wednesday morning in L.A. By my math, that day lasted 41 hours. I seemed to adap to the time change better than others, though. Nammy was still having trouble staying awake on Sunday, when by and large I was back to normal by Friday morning. Not much to report during those days, save for the fact we visited both Anaheim parks on Saturday, just so we could officially say we had been at four parks in two different countries in the same week.

Work this week hasn't been so bad, actually. The addition of another office assistant and a separate personal assistant has really made my job easier. We had to fire the office assistant today, though, so I'm looking for a replacement starting tomorrow!

I don't know about you, but where I am, it's been January 1st for quite a while. Happy New Year! Today I finally got to go to Tokyo Disneyland. Holy crap, is that castle huge! Anyways, I'm spending my last days in Japan doing something very American, Disney parks! D'oh!
