It's Annual Clean Up Your Damn Room Day in the house. The room's been a mess by even my standards for quite some time now, so it's probably a good thing that I get stuff organized. There's still a lot of clutter in the room, but I've reclaimed a fair amount of carpet space and have quite a bit of trash I'm throwing out.

Recovering from Comic Con and coming home at 3:30 this morning. Min and Nammy stuck around for most of the day so we watched a DVD I bought and saw the Simpsons movie. How we missed that during con I'll never know. It was in our plans!

The first few days of Comic Con have been packed. In between caring for a baby on Preview Night (!), dressing up for the Stargate panels on Friday, and getting Sgt. Slaughter's autograph, I managed to get into the Animation Writer's Guild party! Met some writers from shows I watched and generally schmoozed, if I can even call it that. I was supposed to go to Kansas City Barbecue with my friends, but this came up rather late and they all encouraged me to go. I guess it worked out for me, since I'm told service at their restaurant was lousy.

And oh yeah, I got 5 people to take my picture in my Stargate costume! And the official Stargate booth gave me a free sweater! And I got video of me in a podcast! How cool is that??

For better or worse, next Friday I'll be at Comic Con in a Stargate SG-1 costume. Actually, it's SG-14, but who's counting? Every part has been assembled, patches have been applied. The jacket and pants aren't quite the same shade of green, but they're close enough. Why Friday? That's when the Stargate panels are. Did I learn my lesson when I went to Comic Con dressed as Indiana Jones in 2004? Absolutely not. I believe for this costume, the correct term is "hot as hell!" But that's why the term "fan" came from "fanatic," no?

Anyone else get dime-store philosophical when they can't sleep? I don't even know what that phrase means, but since I made it up, I suppose I can take a guess. Questioning one's life without really getting deep. Why can't I sleep? Why haven't those NyQuil kicked in yet? I'm over the worst of the cold as of today. The sore throat's all but gone, coughs are nowhere near are bad. Hopefully I should be done with this in a day or two. But as I'm still sick, I need to get rest. MY body, however, isn't quite ready for bed yet. Even the medication I took isn't really making me drowsy. I can't truly blame this one my internal clock as I was out cold by this time the last two nights. Maybe I'm just recovered enough that my body doesn't need as much sleep?

All in all, I ended up losing about 30 bucks in Vegas. Not too bad, considering the amount some of my friends lost at the tables. There's a reason I stick to the slots! I did pick up what I think is a pretty cool shirt, though. Bought at Star Trek: The Experience, it's a shirt of Kirk yelling "Kahn!" I think it's some kind of awesome, but I guess you really have to be an internet nerd to truly appreciate it. But this just means I have a new shirt for Comic Con!

Somehow I've ended up in Vegas with Nammy, Jason, Min, and Rob. We're all blowing off steam from AX, which wasn't as well received as we would like. We left for Vegas yesterday night, and since we really didn't have a hotel room until 11 this morning we tried our best to stay awake while going from casino to casino. These poor guys even had an AX phone meeting at 9! I slept uncomfortably in a nearby chair while that went on, then we all crashed hard once we got to our room.
