Wait... you're actually reading this?!

I just finished watching Iron Man on DVD with Russell. Come on, you all knew I would pick it up on its first day of release, right? Even though I pretty much watched the entire ending fight while it played on the tvs at Wal-Mart earlier, I just had to go through the whole thing again. I do think the movie starts out kind of slow, though. The scenes in Afghanistan aren't exactly my favorite. Of course, sticking it in Vietnam probably wouldn't work, either. I can't believe that I didn't catch on that the group that takes him hostage, Ten Rings, would have to be the Mandarin's group. Thanks, Russell. Now I just gotta find where Captain America's shield pops up!

Rather interesting to wake up to the sounds of rain and thunder this morning. That I wasn't expecting. I think it threw off my dog, too. She starting barking at the sound of the large drops hitting the house. Fortunately, she quieted down fairly quickly once I yelled at her. Wish she would do that whenever she hears someone at the door, though!

So to file under the "wow, how time flies" department is a little bit of news that I kept meaning to post here and now I'm suddenly more than two weeks past. I got work as a Production Assistant for a short film two weekends ago! Easy work, but long hours - 12 hour days over four days. Fortunately, they went easy on me, being my first time and all, and the shortness of the production meant my feet weren't completely obliterated by the experience. Mostly we PAs did odd jobs here and there, and during times of actual filming, we hid out of sight trying to keep people from walking into the shot. For the first three days we were on location in Downtown LA, shooting some of the lesser-kempt areas. The last day was pretty cool - an old, closed jail that's been the domain of film shoots for the last three decades. Who knew Lincoln Heights had this just sitting there?

Ugh, I've got a cold. Started feeling it on Monday with a sore throat. Then it got bad enough that night, that I couldn't sleep. I tried throat lozenges, but they weren't really helping. Add to that I know had a sinus headache and my ears were popping, and I knew I was in trouble. Unfortunately, I only had DayQuil in the restroom, and it was about 4:30 in the morning. Eventually, 6:00 rolled around, dad got up, and he fished out NyQuil from his bathroom. So I finally had some medication, but more symptoms started rolling in as the day went on, including fever. So far I've been light on the coughing and sneezing, though, so at least I've got that going for me.

Oh, and why am I still at the Orange County home? The Ford dealership didn't fix the Escort properly! On Saturday I noticed it was making the same problems it did before, so we took it back in to the dealership!

Driving around town today looking for Joes, my car's engine died. It's happened a few times before in the last couple of weeks. The check engine light's been on and Mike suspected the timing belt was off. Usually when I lose power like that, I just have to turn the engine back on and go on my way. It's been a nagging issue, though, and one I just haven't had time to address. Unfortunately, I couldn't just ignore it this time. The engine wouldn't restart. So I ended up calling Triple A for a tow to a Ford dealership. They're checking on the car now.

I've actually gotten some good response with that Cobra Campaign pic. Hell, I liked it so much that I started filling out my deviantart page because of it! No, don't worry, I'm not gonna go all emo on you. I only had the account so I could view some of the more... "restricted" images. Evidently, people were still finding my blank page, so I might as well have something there, right?

Don't mind me, just testing out a new lighting set up for taking photos of my figures and decided to play around a bit.

Guess I should credit G4 with the idea.
