I got to interview the man who portrayed Duke in those 90's live-action G.I. Joe commercials yesterday. I pretty much just sat back and listened for 80 minutes while he told some fun tales about shooting those videos. Look for an interview on YoJoe soon.

I spent close to three hours trying to get my computer to boot up today. It had been having some problems since I installed the new hardware, but nothing like this. The reset button, the power switch on the back, safe mode, nothing seemed to help. Finally I just unplugged my new hard drive and everything started up just fine. So great, there's a fun problem to work out....

I drove into Orange County today to pick up my uncle and his wife from the airport. Parking was so bad there that finding a spot was something of an adventure in itself. I dropped them off at my grandparents and then drove back to the Orange County house. Dad's on a business trip right now, so I figured I would eat dinner with mom so she could have some company. We were in a bit of a rush to leave the restaurant and ended up leaving our to-go bag there! Fortunately, I got to pick up the food a little later. Unfortunately, as I drove off to the Los Angeles house, I found I had taken something of mom's with me. I lost about 20 minutes making that return trip to drop it off.

On the drive back from Universal Studios today, I started feeling pretty lousy. Headache, dizziness, nausea. Dunno what it is making me feel this way, but it hasn't been going away. Bleh. No temperature, so it's not a fever or anything, just... feeling awful. Not that I have any experience in this regard, but I can't help but feel like I've got a hangover without the alcohol!

I finally got to see Kentucky Fried Movie. I've been a Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker fan for about as long as I can remember. (I do believe I saw The Naked Gun in the theater.) I've known about this film for a number of years, but for some reason. I've never run across it in person. Well, after reading a thread on Fark that starting referencing this film, I decided it was time to watch it. I asked Russell to add it to his Netflix queue, and since he didn't really have anything on there he wanted to watch, it arrived in the mail yesterday. Jason, Russell, and I were laughing our asses off. And boy, did they not hold back on the nudity! Makes you wonder how some of their other films would have been if they weren't sticking to a PG-13 rating. (Hot Shots' sex scene, anybody?) So yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Plus, it helped wash out some of the bad taste that was An American Carol. How did David Zucker put out such crap?

Stargate: Atlantis just ended tonight. It seemed a bit rushed, though. Granted, the crew only found out about the cancellation while filming the third-to-last episode, so quickly making a workable ending was a bit tough to begin with! Obviously, the threat of the Wraith is not over, and I would love to see some real closure for Ford and Weir. Knowing they should be going into DVD movies makes it easier to take. Still, by my calculations, this should have been their 100th episode. I would have liked to see a comedic bit like SG-1 got.
