I finally got some "Temple of Doom" figures from the Indiana Jones line. They're still hard as hell to find, so the internet is pretty much my only resort. Yes, I shopped around before making my purchase, but it was still more than I would have like to pay. But dude, Mola Rom comes with a burning heart he can hold in his hand. That alone makes it totally worth it.

If you're of a mind to sit through reviews of G.I. Joe toys, I've got some up at Yojoe's Sit-Rep. Today we started the first of 10 reviews for a current wave of figures. I'll be handling five of those. I try to keep some humor going in them so the review isn't so dry, and of course, because they're toys! So just a heads up for you all.

Went to Target today to exchange my Tiger Rat. After all the work I wen through to put mine together, I wasn't looking forward to doing it all over again with a new one. Seriously, unwinding those damn twist ties and adding the decals? Not fun. Especially when the decals don't fit where the instructions tell you to put them. I asked the customer service rep if I could bring one of their Tiger Rats to the counter, take out the pieces I needed, and then have them use their Tiger Rat as the one to send back. Of course, I brought mine there to show I had indeed purchased one. Thankfully, the rep was cool with the plan, so five minutes later, I walked out with my plane and two new searchlights. Score!

Nerd rage time - feel free to skip if complaining about defunctional toys doesn't interest you. Now that I'm all alone....

I finally found the Target exclusive Tiger Rat for G.I. Joe yesterday. Buy it, take it home. I had to wait until today to take pictures of the box so the lighting doesn't look too weird. I open it up and... I'm missing pieces! Nothing major, but it's apparent they're gone. The vehicle's still hard to find, so exchanging it isn't really an available option. I emailed Hasbro to see if they can do anything, but I don't have my hopes up. Meanwhile, I can't archive this thing!

Whether you're a fan of G.I. Joe or not, may I suggest checking out G.I. Joe: Resolute? It's written by Warren Ellis, well-known characters are killed, and Snake Eyes isn't afraid to use his sword. How's that for an animated show?

Easter is this Sunday, which probably means I'll be attending church sometime this weekend. Guess I've become a Christmas and Easter guy, only dropping in on the two most important times of the year. I feel guilty about it sometimes, but then I remember I'm Catholic. I feel guilty about everything.

I'm paid for AX work now! Woo hoo! I got called into the office last Thursday without explanation. Then I was given the bad news/good news routine. The bad news was that I couldn't be a volunteer any more, the good news being receiving a paycheck. Not too shabby! Now I just gotta figure out how many hours I'm working!
