Alright, so how should I word this? I guess I'm having a minor sort of freak out here. Knowing the abysmal failure of my love life, I find more and more people I know having careers, getting engaged, getting married, having kids. I'm stuck in the same place I've been for years. Stagnation. Am I working on changing that? Of course, yes. Do I know when my plans will come to fruition? Not at all. I just realize the last few years are starting to blend together. Events, conversations, friendships - the timeline's muddling together to the point that years have gone by and I barely notice. It's unsettling. I'm feeling left behind as others advance, still unchanged from four years ago. I want things to change, but I'm afraid to find out how.

Watched "Ponyo" last night in the theater. The original plan was to see "District 9," but the showtimes weren't working for us. I did want to see Ponyo in the theater, though. I hadn't watched any Studio Ghibli films before last year, so I was eager for the chance to watch one on the big screen. Fun movie - not as epic as some of the earlier works, but worth watching to be sure.

It's been a whirlwind couple of months. Making some new friends, reconnecting with old ones, and totally bombing in the romantic department. Ah life, you truly can be feast or famine sometimes, can't you?

Just finished a marathon cleaning session at the LA house. Floors have been wiped, surfaces scrubbed, and dishes cleaned. We even cleared out the kitchen. Seriously, this place looks better than it has in years. Hope it stays this way for a bit! Ah, who am I kidding, it'll be back to it's cluttered self within a month! Just gotta enjoy the clean while it lasts!

Yesterday Jason and I went to Chili's for dinner. We wanted to eat somewhere we didn't normally - try to break out of the rut. So we go there, eat, and wait for the check. All of a sudden, a cockroach drops from the ceiling onto Jason's should! And this is one of those big, inch and a half long ones, too. Considering there's a big roach on him that just won't fall off, Jason's remarkably calm. Eventually, after the roach craws around his back, he knocks it off his shirt. Lots of witnesses grossed out by this, too. Needless to say, it was the cheapest meal we've ever have at Chili's.

Had some relatives from out of town drop by today. We had a wedding in the family yesterday, and they were taking advantage of the opportunity to see the family around here. Let me just say this - three year old kids can be exhausting!

My grandfather's sister passed away during the night. Aunt Violet had been very frail these last few years, and I suppose it's not terribly unexpected for someone her age to pass away. Hopefully she's at peace now, and able to be with her son who passed away from cancer last year.
