Action Man was the original name given to the European version of the 12" G.I. Joe from the 1960's. When the toyline changed to the 3 3/4" format, the line was renamed to Action Man: Action Force. Eventually, this toyline changed to be called G.I. Joe, but Hasbro later marketed Action Man again in the late 1990s, as a totally separate entity from G.I. Joe. When McDonald's produced Action Man Happy Meal toys in this scale in 2001, I knew I had to make a custom. The head is from one of those toys, the arms from 1990 Lampreys, and the waist and legs from 1985 Airtight. I chose 1988 Skystriker's chest because the scarf, for some reason, reminded me of World War II Royal Air Force pilots. I know, my brain makes weird, and sometimes weak, connections.

This particular Action Man happens to be the son of the original. More of an adventurer than a soldier, he occasionally helps out G.I. Joe when they're in the area of England.

And yes, I made this long before Hasbro put out their official Action Man figure; I think I did a much better job anyway.
