I drove over to Frank & Son's today for the first time in well over a year, quite possibly two. I was out and about looking for the new DOA figures. Not finding any, I spent most of my $60 on random crap. Imagine my annoyance to finally find a full set for $25 when I only had $13 left. I left without that which I came for, but I hope to go back on Saturday and snag them then.

In other news, yesterday was dad's birthday, so we went out to eat at La Vie en Rose in Brea. I was laughably underdressed for the restaurant, but survived it okay. Dinner was forty bucks, though. Per Person. Minimum. Yikes!!

Busy weekend for me. Thursday was, of course, Thanksgiving and we had the relatives over for dinner in the tables set up in the backyard. Oddly enough, they kept coming in and out, almost in shifts, so it never really felt like it was all that crowded. Even curiouser, everyone was gone by seven. It was a fast and slightly bizarre holiday. Later that night Ken and Nammy came over. We drove over to pick up Mai with the intention of spending the night at my house. We'd get up early Friday, so some quick shopping, and pop over to Disneyland. Well, me being paranoid, we ended up spending the night camped out in front of Wal-Mart, cold even under the heavy blankets I brought over. I was the only one looking for something, so I felt a little guilty making everyone else do it. I got my eight dollar lightsabers, and before seven we were at home for some sleep in the comfort of my home. We got to Disneyland around noon, met up with Miho and Danny, and spent the rest of the day visiting as many attractions as we could under the extremely crowded conditions. Yesterday Nammy and I went driving around Orange County looking for the elusive $99 Nintendo DS and reading my Disneyland books back at home. A fairly relaxing end to the hectic days before. Today I helped mom put up some more Christmas decorations after saying goodbye to Mike. He flew back to Missouri this afternoon.

My birthday was yesterday. (I turned 23 on the 23rd!) Among the many cool gifts I got was a Luke Skywalker Force FX Lightsaber. It's the second version of his green one that's an exclusive to Borders. How cool is it? Well, it's kinda like the electronic lightsabers Hasbro has, only the hilt's medal, the blade doesn't retract, it detects movement so it automatically adds the movement sound effects, and it's really, really cool. Everyone else was having fun playing with it.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. It's at our house this year, so I'll be pretty busy today. Tomorrow is some Black Friday shopping, and then Disneyland!

Yesterday and today Mike and I spent some time putting up the outdoor Christmas lights. I really don't like putting up the lights before it's even December, but we usually put them up on Thanksgiving anyways. This year Thanksgiving is at our house, so the time devoted to this chore is nonexistent. And mom being how she is, we ended up putting them on even earlier. I did however convince mom to get us some of those new LED Christmas lights. Hopefully they'll save us some money in the long run, using less wattage and not being prone to burning out or breaking. And I've turned on the lights just to see how they look. It's pretty nice. I'm actually looking forward to turning these on full time.

Well, today was my last day working at the talent agency. There wasn't anything too special about it, except that I brought my camera and we took a few photos before I left. Eventually, I should get a check for the money I paid for parking, and hopefully, a letter of recommendation. Now I gotta find somewhere new to work....

I got to see Paul McCartney perform at the Anaheim Pond Saturday night. I don't care what anyone else may feel about him, I thought he was great. Hell, he even had a live feed to the International Space Station for part of the performance! Now, if only I could've gotten a playlist to actually tell you hat he played.

Boy, I thought I had come to terms with no longer being a student back in September, but of course I was wrong. You see, this evening, from 7:30 to 10:00, to be precise, I attended a Screen Actor's Guild-sponsored voice-over workshop (*gasp!* You mean I actually did something about my future besides talk?? Well, not much, but yeah.) in La Mesa, CA. Now, if you were to check a map, you'd see that La Mesa was just outside the city limits of San Diego, not near LA like one would think an entertainment industry-related event would be. So I drove down and back to this session today. Made good time on the return trip, too. Anyways, on the way back I started seeing these familiar landmarks and places I had gotten to know while a UCSD student. Of course, being that it was after 10 pm and I had an early day tomorrow, I couldn't even stop to look around. Add in a slow song playing on the radio, and I felt a profound sadness for the life I no longer had. It's funny, I never really cared much for my time while attending UCSD, yet I'm already missing it just a few months removed.

It's t-minus 20 until my birthday, but the gifts have already started to arrive! I got my copy of Episode III today, along with a Wal-Mart exclusive clone trooper 3 pack. Imagine my surprise when I entered my room to see a box from Starwarsshop.com in my chair. I had the internet exclusive clone trooper now, too! Woo hoo! I am in geek heaven right now. Wake me when I have to face reality again in a few days.
