While a friend of mine was in Orlando, he visited Disney World and picked up a book on its history for me. I appreciate the gesture, and can add it to my little library of books on the Disney theme parks. Then I started to read it... The book was published in 2008, but one of the authors died in November 2007. The introduction was by Roy E. Disney, who passed away in December 2009. His introduction talks about the deaths of Walt and Roy O. Disney. Damn, but that's a depressing way to start this book! I'm more than halfway through it now, but it's taken me a while!

It would seem that my old phone with the cracked screen is not totally useless. About a year and a half ago, dad lost his digital camera. I got him a new one for his birthday that year, so he hasn't been without one this entire time. Well, thinking his old camera was gone, he threw out the charger. You can probably guess where this is going - now that the battery charger's gone, dad ends up finding the camera again! The battery depleted, the fully functioning camera is about as useful as a paperweight. I looked at the battery last night and noticed the electrical connections matched those on my phone battery. Then came the wild idea - what if I could charge the battery through my phone? I used the old one just in case the voltages were wrong - the screen was cracked and service disconnected anyways, would it matter if I made it worse? So I made the connection, holding the battery in place with a rubber band as the space for the battery isn't exactly the same. The text I could see could have meant "Battery Charging" so hey, so far so good. I let it run overnight and popped the battery in the camera this morning. It worked! How is it possible??

Thanks to Nammy, I have a working phone again! The man just had a cell phone from the same carrier and maker as mine, unused. Convenient! We had the Sprint store change over the service, but unfortunately they couldn't import my contacts. I managed to get a bluetooth connection set up over both phones and transfer the contacts one by one that way. Hope I got them all...

My cell phone screen died on me sometime today. I can still send and receive calls, so it's at least functional, but text messages are going to go unanswered until I get this phone replaced!

Blogger is ending FTP support next month, and it doesn't look like I can set up the page to keep going with them. So, this is probably the last month I make updates through them. I'm going to try switching to Wordpress or something, so there may be a very big site update in the near-future.
